Fonts vary across operating systems and may change when moving a file from one to another. For compatability across operating systems, imported graphics are stored in JPEG or PNG format in lxxplot files. There are some considerations when moving a file from/to LXBeams/LXFree on MacOS to/from LXPlan. LXPlan uses the same LXFoundation technology as LXBeams and LXFree running on MacOS but, it is a separate application. Java is a trademark of Oracle Corporation and/or its affiliates. Java(tm) is a programming language and software platform that allows the same application to run on different operating systems that was originally created by Sun Microsystems. The latest version of LXPlan is 2.8.5 (16915.1). LXPlan is free to use for non-commercial purposes. The Linux version uses whatever Java(tm) is the default for the system it is running on. An alternate Windows version is available, primarily for 32bit systems, that uses Oracle Java 8 if it is installed separately. A version is available for Windows that includes an OpenJDK runtime so that nothing else needs to be installed. LXPlan is currently available for Windows and Linux (Ubuntu/Debian). Please help by providing feedback on problems encountered using LXPlan. LXPlan is still being developed and tested. LXPlan produces reports by linking the graphics, attached data, and additional databases related to the properties of these objects. LXPlan combines drawing a light plot with editing information attached to graphic objects in the drawing. Note: Donations are not tax deductible in the US at this time.LXPlan is an application for drawing light plots and generating paperwork. Please post any problems you find to the LX Series Forum To install, open a terminal window and change to the directory containing the b file: LXPlan is distributed inside a Debian install package (.deb) and includes a desktop launcher. You may wish to duplicate and rename this folder %APPDATA%/LXSeries4Windows/LXPlan to keep your old LXFree for Java settings separate from the ones used by LXPlan. LXPlan is able to use the settings and libraries from LXFree for Java which are found in the folder %APPDATA%/LXSeries4Windows/LXFreeForJava. Important: If you have trouble with installing an update, remove the older version with the Programs and Features control panel and then install the newer version. If you'd like to replace the openjdk used by this version of LXPlan, you can do so by replacing the openjdk folder inside %APPDATA%/LXSeries4Windows/LXPlanApplication/Java. (If you have another version of Java installed elsewhere, it shouldn't be a problem.) The standard installer includes a copy of Open JDK and requires no other installation. Java 9 and later has interface scaling that is compatible with high DPI screens. Like other Java based applications, LXPlan may appear small when used with a high resolution display. If you have a newer computer with a 64 bit version of Windows and a high DPI display, you will want to use one of the OpenJDK 11 installers. Java is a trademark of Oracle Corporation. (**) Rendering on some 64bit versions of linux requires openJDK 1.8.0 due to issue with ld.so. LXPlan replaced older software named LXFree for Java Please choose the link that best matches yourįor systems with Oracle () Java 1.8.Īlternate installer with OpenJDK included.
